  • Delays or stops the egg from being released
  • If there is no egg, the sperm is not able to fertilize anything
  • Thickens cervical mucus which blocks the sperm from joining with the egg
  • Thins uterus inner lining which prevents a fertilized egg from being embedded in the uterus
